New York Fashion Week is right around the corner. I couldn’t help but get inspired by all the different styles bloggers are rocking on the streets! I love going to New York around this time of the year because of how lively the city becomes. #pleaseinviteAmber
My closet lacks variety and options compared to bloggers who actually attend fashion shows, but I was really surprised by how many fashion week -esque outfits can come to live just by simply switching my usual “combination” with clothes that get buried in the back of my closet.
I’ve always had a “thing” for black clothes. Whenever I go to a store, I’d always come out with at least one piece that’s black. It goes with anything and everything and looks good anytime and everywhere. But after study abroad, I started buying clothes at every country I traveled to. All the styles from each country were so different than the clothes I usually wear - from elephant pants to bohemian shirts. So I had to get something right? That’s when I stepped out of my “all black” comfort zone just to show off my souvenirs.
So here, I’m wearing my usual work outfit - a classic blazer and trouser. I switched out my usual button down with a black lace tank that had a deeper neckline cut. At first I thought the overall color for this outfit would be too dark, but it really made my accessories stand out! It’s a combo I definitely don’t wear often, but I love how this turned out!
